SPACIOUS HEARTS
CURIOUS MINDS

Public speaking engagements, professional development, events, podcasts & blogs, resources.

THE CENTRE OF FAITH AND LIFE EXISTS TO SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANISATIONS IN LEADING A FLOURISHING LIFE.

We seek to empower by telling the Christian story in a way that leads to wholeness and fulfillment, exploring life and the future in the light of the historic Christian faith, the Biblical narrative, and insights from our rapidly-evolving world.
How do we do this?
  • Public speaking engagements
  • Professional development
  • Tailored events
  • Mentoring and spiritual direction
  • Podcasts & blogs
  • Resources

DEEP IDEAS ARE DIFFICULT TO NAVIGATE.
LET'S CHANGE THAT.

By creating safe spaces for accessible, raw discussion, we build an atmosphere that is hopeful and optimistic about the world and our place within it. Through our speaking, events and resources, we encourage new ideas, reflection and genuine conversation. Wherever you’re starting from, we would love your company on a journey that really matters.

Sometimes, we categorise people out of Gods kingdom because they don’t meet the brief, they don’t fit our preconceived ideas and expectations. So, this Christmas, when I put my nativity in pride of place to celebrate “the King has Come”, I am reminded that a King didn’t come, at least not in the eyes of all those waiting on one. The nativity was the ultimate Kris Kringle (maybe the first!), where we quite simply don’t know what to expect and should always be prepared for a surprise, but it will be a gift.

For something new to grow, something else must fade. Death isn’t just the end of life it’s also the beginning.

St John of the Cross wrote: “If a man wishes to be sure of the road he treads on, he must close his eyes and walk in the dark.” When we can’t see, and can’t make any sense of things, keeping on can be the deepest form of trust. It can serve a profound purpose, for the dark night of the soul is sometimes the space between who we have been and who we will become.

OUR PEOPLE

DR BRIAN HARRIS

Jesus taught that our eyes are a lamp for our body and lamented that many people look at the world in an unhelpful way. By contrast, he noted that when our eyes are sound, our lives are full of light. How we frame the world matters.

I am deeply committed to developing versions of the Christian faith that lead to flourishing and joy. Spacious hearts and curious minds are a necessary pathway for growth and spiritual renewal. Having spent most of my life as a pastor, theologian, educator, author, speaker and leader, I am delighted to be involved in a project that digs deep into the things that really matter.

JON BERGMANN

I’ve always believed that there was far more to be hopeful about than to fear. The more I learn about the Christian faith, the more I am convinced that one of its central themes is flourishing.

I am compelled by a vision of humans flourishing in the world, and in relationship with God, and think that if we look to the future with spacious hearts and curious minds, we will be postured to speak powerfully into an ever-changing world. I’ve worked in theological education for much of the last decade, and am passionate about teaching, training, and leadership.
